NOMADS I. INUIT HUNTERS

NOMADS is a project that has been brewing for more than a decade, but which began formally in Greenland in 2016.
That year we made an expedition to the west coast of Greenland, accompanying Inuit hunters in a 200 km sled ride on the Arctic sea ice.
During this trip we could study the current situation of the Inuit population in Greenland and, especially on the west coast, where, currently, the populations dont have a sustainable way of life.

The relationship with dogs, the rules of hunting and fishing, the way of life in a place that lacks many basic resources, the relationship with the crown of Denmark, beliefs, loss of traditions, pride of national feeling, we have witnessed a culture in transition that emerges from its legacy to enter fully into the advanced world.
The split of the Danish government is at the doors and the people we visit are condemned to disappear, along with their traditional way of life, of which only a few traces remain.
We are currently working on the photographic exhibition, the video and the publication of the analysis carried out, which together with a new expedition to Qaanaaq will complete the chapter dedicated to the Inuit people.
